Crystal Machado, Department of Professional Studies in Education, and Tami Seifert, Kibbutzim College of Education, Tel-Aviv, presented a coauthored paper at the Society of Information Technology and Teacher Education conference in San Diego in April 2022. The paper, titled "Using Flipgrid to Engage American Preservice and Israeli Inservice Teachers in Intercultural Dialogue," presents the results of a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Project.
Abstract
This Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project which targets three of ISTE’s Standards for Educators (2017) engaged 63 American preservice teachers and 39 Israeli in-service teachers in asynchronous dialogue in the cloud via Flipgrid. We used data generated by Flipgrid and end-of-semester survey data to answer three research questions. In this paper, we describe respondents’ level of participation, the benefits and challenges they described, and their willingness to use Flipgrid in the future. Findings have implications for K-20 teachers and educators across content areas.
