Congratulations to George Armstrong, our most recent PhD graduate in Safety Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
George's dissertation was “Assessing Manufacturing Employee Perceptions of Supervisor Occupational Health and Safety Competencies and Potential for Occupational Health and Safety Training Facilitation.” Wanda Minnick was his dissertation advisor.
George produced a very interesting dissertation. Depending on your organizational role, the safety and health competencies that you are looking for in a supervisor can change, as well as your preferences as who should conduct the safety and health training based on their certifications or competencies.
