The following message was emailed to all students on Thursday, August 29:
We wish you luck as you begin your first week of the fall semester. I am Tim Stringer, director of Public Safety and chief of the IUP Police Department. Important messaging regarding school closures and emergencies is sent by IUP using the contact information found in your MY IUP account. It is vital to everyone's safety on campus that we can accurately push these messages out. The instructions to ensure that your most up-to-date contact information is correct are listed below.
First, log in to the MyIUP portal at www.iup.edu/myiup. If you haven't used the new portal, watch the welcome video on the login page for tips on how to navigate and find information.
Update Contact Information on MyIUP
To guarantee timely communications from IUP, please take a moment to view your contact information and update it if necessary; this is a requirement for all students. On the Dashboard in MyIUP, locate the My Student Information, Data, and Accounts card. Scroll down and click on View Contact Information. If changes are needed, click Update Address(es) and Phone(s) at the bottom of the page.
Update Contact Information for Emergency Notification System Registration and Updates
Please review and update your information to confirm that you receive all emergency communications via our notification system. In MyIUP, go to Discover and search for "Emergency." On the Safety and Security card, click Emergency Alert Notification Sign-up, Everbridge. That will take you to your Everbridge member profile. You can also download the Everbridge app from the App Store or Google Play to get notified of campus-related emergencies. (App links are also found on the Safety and Security card in the portal.)
Update Your Missing Student Emergency Notification Information
IUP must have a contact other than yourself in case you are missing or become incapacitated. In MyIUP, locate your My Student Information, Data, and Accounts card on the Dashboard. Scroll down and click Missing Student Emergency Contact Information. If you have no information listed or incorrect information, click Modify Information. Once you have entered the correct information, click Confirm Update.
