Student Support
We know individualized support can make a real difference in your college experience. We care about you and understand that there are many factors that contribute to a happy, healthy experience—that's why we have systems in place to support you. Get answers to your questions from your academic advisor, your IUP Guide, or the Hawks Q&A Center. Take advantage of tutoring to help you through a tough class, or get help from the Writing Center to polish that research paper. Explore student research opportunities or get extra support from the Counseling Center and our Health Service. You’ll find a wide range of resources here that you can rely on.
Answers When You Need Them
For general questions, students can ask the Hawks Q&A Center anything at all or turn to their guide: a staff member assigned to undergraduates during freshman year to help them connect with IUP resources. And your academic advisor can help you navigate all things academic.
Academic Support
Support is available to you through a variety of programs on campus, including assigned mentors, tutoring, writing center assistance, advice on choosing a major, library assistance, and more.

IUP is an R2 High Research Activity university, and everyone from faculty to first-year students has research opportunities available.
- The Undergraduate Research Office is a central source for undergraduates looking to find, fund, or present research.

- The IUP Research Institute supports all funded research on campus.

The Center for Health and Well-Being provides services that students need to address their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A variety of wellness support, from nutrition counseling to stress management, is also available.
Whole-Student Support
We provide support for students with disabilities, veterans and service members, students in the LGBTQIA community, students who are parents and in need of childcare, and others.
Career and Professional Development Center
The Career and Professional Development Center provides support for students and alumni to make informed career decisions, gain career management skills, and achieve their professional goals. It sponsors an ongoing series of educational sessions and job fairs to help students prepare for and succeed in the job market.
IT Support Center
Provides technology support to all students, faculty, and staff. Get service by submitting an help ticket or by visiting the Student Computing Help Desk, located in Delaney Hall.
