October 7 is the Deadline to Vote in Upcoming Election

Voting in local, state, and federal elections is a vital part of democracy. It is a form of speech that helps you express your views by supporting policies and candidates that support your ideology. Through participation in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, IUP is looking to ensure that all members of the campus community are able to express their voice in this process.

The Official IUP Homecoming Party will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight in the Kovalchick Complex. The event is free for students with an I-Card and $5 for guests.

Food Back at Folger

Starting on Monday, September 23, IUP Dining will offer select items for sale in Folger Hall, including soft pretzels, chips, popcorn, hoagies, fruit, slushies, cookies, mac n’ cheese bites, chicken tenders, and personal pizzas, to name a few. Food will be sold from 8:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Monday–Friday.

Jim and Evelyn Piazza Set to Speak on February 18

The parents of Timothy Piazza, Jim and Evelyn, will speak about the death of their son and their hope for change on college campuses. Timothy Piazza was a sophomore at Penn State in 2017 when he died after a night of pledging a fraternity there.

Crimson Closet, Campus Project for Women, Opens Thursday

As a result of their attendance and participation at the 2016 PASSHE Women’s Consortium Leadership Institute for Staff Women, Leslie Coates and Malaika Turner were awarded a grant to create a campus project for women. As a result, starting on Thursday, December 6, IUP will open its first Crimson Closet.

The center, located on the first floor of Elkin Hall, opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the new facility, and a reception. The center was created to offer one location on campus where students can access services to address multiple aspects of culture, identity, and diversity.
