Our university community found our spring semester suddenly disrupted, and we've all had to make changes to the work we do and how we do it. Our students miss personal interaction with their professors and friends, and our faculty and staff miss our students and their colleagues.
Our vision statement says IUP is a community where teaching, research, and service empower students to become innovative leaders while enhancing communities throughout the world. Remaining true to its traditions, IUP assesses society's needs and opportunities and meets them.
Holding true to that core principle, we have joined together to forge ahead by finding ways to care for our entire IUP community during this difficult time. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends alike are assessing our needs and raising their hands to offer to help. In the spirit of these sentiments, we shifted today's IUP Day of Giving to IUP Day of Caring.
Please join alumni, friends, and students in IUP's Day of Caring. Here, you'll find a variety of resources shared from alumni to help transition to this "new normal." In honor of IUP Day of Caring, consider making a gift to support students facing undue financial hardship because of COVID-19 by giving to the IUP Emergency Response Fund.
Together, we will get through this. #IUPcares #IUPproud
