On November 1, 2021, the Center for Teaching Excellence welcomed three new members to the Leadership Team. These new members are Associate Director of Reflective Practice Amber Racchini, Co-Director of Assessment Meigan Robb, and Co-Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Sudipta Majumdar.
The co-director of DEI is a new and exciting addition to CTE’s leadership team. As part of the leadership team, the associate director and co-directors assist in guiding the mission of the CTE of fostering the enhancement of teaching excellence and nurturing best practices in teaching at IUP.
Associate Director of Reflective Practice
Amber Racchini will be serving as the new associate director of Reflective Practice. This role is integral to planning and implementation of the Reflective Practice Project, which includes monthly Large Group Meetings, teaching-related workshops, and Teaching Circles.
Racchini has been a faculty member at IUP for nine years and is currently the dean’s associate in the University College and an associate professor in the Department of Undergraduate Studies and Student Success. She brings a wealth of experience in planning and implementing professional development experiences.
Co-Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Sudipta Majumdar will be joining CTE in the inaugural role of co-director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This position will develop new DEI initiatives to enhance inclusive teaching at IUP and further our PASSHE DEI mission of “ensuring accessibility and championing the success of all members of its community regardless of one’s identity.”
Majumdar is an associate professor in the Madia Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Engineering. Majumdar has demonstrated a passion and commitment to DEI, as a member of the President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion, one of the developers of IUP’s current Diversity Action Plan, and a trained member of the IUP Safe Zone Program, which supports LGBTQIA+ members of the IUP Community.
Co-Director of Assessment
Meigan Robb will serve as the new co-director of Assessment. This position supports the leadership team through the development of assessment tools, tracking of assessment data, data analysis, and reporting from Reflective Practice events and programs.
Robb is an assistant professor in the Nursing and Allied Health Department. Robb has extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development initiatives and has expertise in collecting, evaluating, and presenting data.
