Dr. Susan Robison Addressing Faculty at IUP, 2

IUP Faculty gained tips to boost their scholarly productivity by attending a one-hour program on “Writing Habits for Peak Performing Professors,” offered by visiting scholar Dr. Susan Robison, on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Colleges that were not founded to be research intensive universities are now redefining their identities to be more scholarship oriented. Faculty, already busy with teaching and service, are feeling increased pressure to produce scholarship and funding. This one-hour workshop examined the sources of those pressures and suggested writing and stress management strategies for producing scholarship while still maintaining best practices in teaching and contributing to the shared governance of the university.

Participants learned how to:

  • Clarify your priorities by designing and working a life management system.
  • Find your most successful scholarship process
  • Manage your stress so you can maintain high levels of productivity and satisfaction.
