Accounting Major
"Deciding to come to IUP and majoring in Business was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. I love the education I have received as well as the guidance from the professors, which will help me be a successful businesswoman in the future. I will forever encourage prospective students to consider IUP and Eberly for its outstanding commitment to the students' education and future careers.
"When I first started my college search, I thought that I was never going to be able to decide between all the different colleges and universities. I decided on IUP immediately upon visiting the campus. Not only had I right away felt safe while walking around, I was struck by the beauty of the campus, the friendliness of anyone I came in contact with, and the pride of those who spoke about the college.
"Since then, I have grown even more to love IUP and Eberly through my fellow students, colleagues, and professors. I have learned not only from my textbooks, but from the knowledge of my professors, who are all eager to share with me what they have experienced throughout their own personal careers.
"For the second year in a row, I have been employed as a community assistant (CA) within the residence halls. Specifically, for the past two years, I lived and worked in the Suites on Maple East. There, I have helped students in need, enforced policies, and been active within the community.
"Being a CA has taught me how to work better with people, and, most importantly, taught me how to deal with everyday conflicts that may arise. This has overall made me better in my personal and professional relationships, especially as I move forward in my career. I have also helped my staff become more united, and helped to guide students in the right direction.
"As a CA, I have also become one of the advisors for the SOAR Council (Students Opting for an Alcohol and Drug-Free Residence), which has helped many students stay out of the parties and into a sober and healthy life.
"I will never regret my decision to attend IUP, and will take with me everything I have learned."
