Research Interests
I currently have two lines of research.
- Cultural Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Students: I am studying what types of didactic instruction and personal experiences increase students' awareness of racial bias, comfort with diverse individuals, and appreciation of life-long cultural learning.
- Outcomes of Rectify & Reform clinical cases as a tool to increase graduate student confidence in supporting system change
- Using Book Reading as a Treatment Routine for Children with Language Disorders: I explore how to recruit book reading routines at home to support child participation and language learning. Recruiting home participation can increase treatment intensity by helping parents become partners in the treatment process.
There are opportunities for students to volunteer to work on ongoing research projects; sign up for office hours and we can talk!
