Background
Chris Barber joined the Communications Media Department in 2000. Prior to this he was sole proprietor of a business that provided commercial and consumer audio/video electronic service, installation of commercial and home entertainment sound systems, and installation/service of small business telephone systems.
Barber serves as the broadcast systems specialist for the College of Education and Communications. This includes the chief engineer for IUP-TV and WIUP-FM. He is also the on-site engineer-in-charge supporting the Digital Sports Production class covering IUP football and basketball games. He supports four digital clinical observation systems in Davis and Stouffer halls and the Pittsburgh East branch campus. He also serves as technical director for the Center for Videoconferencing in Stouffer Hall.
Barber enjoys the outdoors and activities geared around boating with his family, including water skiing, tubing, and swimming.
