Graduated 2006

Field Examiner for the National Labor Relations Board

"As a 2006 graduate of the ELR program, I began my career with the National Labor Relations Board, Region 21, in Los Angeles, California, with a six-month internship. Unfortunately, due to a hiring freeze, the NLRB was unable to offer permanent placement at that time. However, equipped with the transferable knowledge and skills I acquired through the ELR program, I successfully secured a position in the Human Resources department of a large financial institution. In that capacity, I gained hands-on experience with talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, and general employee relations. In July 2008, I was offered a permanent position back with Region 21 as a field examiner. I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do; mainly, investigating unfair labor practice allegations and conducting representation elections. I can confidently say that the ELR program and its dedicated professors were instrumental in providing the necessary tools for me to succeed in the area of labor/employee relations, and proudly recommend the program to anyone seeking a similar career."
