April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Take Back the Night 2023 is on Wednesday, April 12. Join the Haven Project to show your support for survivors of sexual assault. Let your voice be heard!
The Haven Project has chosen to modify the pre-COVID-19 traditional March and Speak Out with our Luminaria event from last year to bring the IUP and Indiana community a three-tiered event to raise awareness and give support to those impacted by sexual violence.
Take Back the Night will feature the following:
6:00 p.m. - Opening Event in the Oak Grove- Attendees can chalk the walk, make a sign, pick up their free TBTN 2023 T-shirt, sign the It's on Us Pledge, view the Clothesline Project display, get your photo with Norm, visit resource tables, and hear guest speakers deliver empowering speeches.
- The March will start in the Oak Grove and end at the HUB. The route follows ADA standards for accessibility and takes roughly 15 minutes.
- The Speak Out is a safe and judgment-free space for survivors and loved ones to share their experiences and stories. Any student is welcome to speak once the floor is open.
- Counselors will be on hand to speak with anyone who is struggling.
- Self-guided healing activities will be available.
Our hope is to show those impacted by sexual violence that IUP is a unified community dedicated to ending sexual violence and supporting survivors and victims.
