Profile

Sandra Janicki retired as a tenured associate professor after serving as a member of the library faculty at IUP Libraries since 1986. She received her MLS from the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh, concentrating in the area of reference services. Her first professional position was in the Sci-Tech Department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. She came to IUP as the evening reference librarian and was appointed bibliographer to the natural sciences.

Sandy additionally served as the Library Department chairperson for nine years and serves on a number of faculty and library-wide committees. She was been a long-time participant in the Center for Teaching Excellence's Reflective Practice Project and a member of the CTE Advisory Board.
