Elizabeth Miller, MD, PhD, FSAHM

Dr. Miller will present some of the recent research on intimate partner and sexual violence prevention and interventions and describe the rationale for trauma-informed, healing-centered engagement as a core guiding principle in supporting survivors of interpersonal violence in health center and social service settings.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the dynamics of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and adolescent relationship abuse and impact on health.
  2. Demonstrate the role of health professionals and service providers in addressing intimate partner and sexual violence among the people they serve and to introduce healing-centered engagement.
  3. Identify opportunities for partner and sexual violence prevention and intervention in clinical and community-based settings.

Target Audience: Clinical personnel, counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, educators, criminal justice professionals, health care professionals.
