Department of Music faculty member, Zach Collins, worked with several high school music programs in western Pennsylvania in October and November 2021.
He performed a short recital and spoke with students at Blairsville High School on October 25. On November 8, he performed for three classes of students at North Hills High School and taught all of the tuba and euphonium players at the school. He visited Shaler Area High School on November 15, where he gave a short performance and provided a clinic for their wind ensemble and jazz band.
When visiting high schools, Collins frequently performs and teaches. He also shares about the musical opportunities that students of all majors have at IUP.
Faculty in the Department of Music frequently make visits to area schools to give performances and clinics. We invite music educators throughout the region to reach out to have IUP music faculty visit in person or virtually. You can find a list of our faculty and their specializations on the Department of Music website.
