Our Top 3 Finals Tips

  1. Create a Game Plan:  
    • Create a focused finals study plan to manage your time effectively, stay organized, and approach each exam with confidence and clarity. Use this Finals Study Plan to get started! 
    • Find your go-to place: Maybe it’s in the Library, Folger, HUB, or an academic building. 
    • Go to office hours: Meeting with your professors during finals week can clarify confusing concepts, deepen your understanding, and help you focus your studying when it matters most. 
  2. Take Care of Yourself  
    • Avoid burnout and take breaks by going for a walk on campus.  
    • Attend De-Stress Fest and meet the therapy dogs
    • Grab a friend and attend Late-Night Pancakes at North on Monday, May 5.
      • Enjoy some late-night pancakes served by IUP celebrity servers at North Dining from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. All students are welcome—free of charge, whether or not they have a meal plan. 
  3. Take Advantage of IUP Resources  
    • Writing Center: The Jones White Writing Center is open during Finals Week for face-to-face and online tutorials. Tutors at the Writing Center can help you write any paper or presentation at any stage of your writing process. 
      • Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. 
      • Friday 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. 
    • Tutoring Center: Walk-in tutoring can be found at various tutoring locations on campus. For more details, you may contact us at 724-357-2375 or by email at hstitt@iup.edu

    • IUP Library: 
      • Call 724-357-2100 or visit the Information Desk on the first floor of Stapleton Library to talk with one of our helpful staff.

      • Extended Library Hours for Finals Week:
        • 7:45 a.m.–midnight, Monday, May 5, through Thursday, May 8
