Chin-Yi Huang, a doctoral student in the Curriculum and Instruction program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, has been awarded the Best Graduate Student Paper Award at the 2025 Eastern Educational Research Association Conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This prestigious recognition highlights Huang’s outstanding contribution to educational research.

The award-winning paper, “A Bibliometric Analysis of TPACK Research in Higher Education: Mapping Trends, Themes, and Applications (2014–2024),” provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) research in higher education over the past decade. Using data from the Web of Science and network visualization tools like VOSviewer, Huang identified five key research clusters, including themes on teacher professional development, flipped classrooms, preservice teacher training, ICT integration, and technology acceptance in education.

Huang’s analysis provides key insights into how technology integration has evolved post-pandemic and identifies emerging trends in digital learning. The research reveals that TPACK scholarship has grown significantly, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing digital transformation in teaching and learning. Huang also identified gaps in longitudinal studies and interdisciplinary applications of TPACK, calling for future research on integrating emerging technologies like AI and AR into higher education.

Huang’s presentation sparked discussions on the future of technology integration in teacher education, making a valuable contribution to the field.
