IUP ROTC offers the following cadet clubs and organizations: Rho Tau Chi (PTX), the Ranger Challenge Detachment, the Battalion Color Guard, and the Battalion Cannon Crew.
Battalion Cannon Crew
The Cannon Crew is a team made of highly motivated, ready to perform, all-volunteer cadets who are experienced with both weapons systems: the M1 rifle and the cannon. This team supports important events, including IUP graduations, Fall and Spring formals, football games, and Veterans of Foreign wars chapters and posts.
Battalion Color Guard
The Warrior Battalion Color Guard participates in numerous events, such as the Veteran's Day Parade, IUP football and basketball home games, and other military events.
Ranger Challenge Detachment
Cadets who volunteer for Ranger Challenge commit themselves to tougher, more comprehensive physical and military training. Cadets try out to become one of ten on the IUP Ranger Challenge Team. Ranger Challenge, the “Varsity Sport of ROTC,” occurs in mid-October each year, when nineteen teams from Pennsylvania and New York compete for the title of Best Ranger Team. IUP is historically one of the top performers in the region, last year placing first among all co-ed teams.
