The ninth annual celebration of IUP's LGBTQIA community and ally graduates will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Great Room, Elkin Hall. The university community and all family and friends are invited to attend the graduation.
Graduating students must signify their participation in Lavender Graduation and request lavender graduation cords by completing the online form.
Please contact the LGBTQIA Advocacy Office with questions: Tedd Cogar at lgbtqia-support@iup.edu.
This ceremony congratulates and celebrates the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (referred to as LGBT) community undergraduate seniors and graduate students. It's an opportunity to recognize and celebrate graduate achievements and contributions to the LGBT community and/or the Indiana community in general.
All graduates who participate will receive a lavender cord that may be worn during the Spring Commencement and/or department ceremonies.
Lavender Graduation recognizes you as a member of the LGBT community and rewards you for your accomplishments while a student at IUP. It also serves as a formal setting for sharing “goodbyes.”
Everyone is welcome! Students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and friends may attend the ceremony. If you have individuals you would like to invite, please invite them to attend. No tickets are necessary.
