Marc Vukotich, second-year student in the Student Affairs in Higher Education master’s program, was the recipient of a regional graduate student scholarship from NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising.
This scholarship recognizes graduate students who are pursuing new or continued careers in the field of academic advising and are seeking to become involved or further involved in NACADA Region 2. The scholarship allowed Vukotich to attend the March 15-17, 2023, Region 2 Conference in Maryland. The theme for this year’s regional conference was “All In on Students: Advising, Engaging, and Supporting Today’s Students.”
About his experience, Vukotich stated, "I really enjoyed getting to connect with academic advisors at the conference from across Region 2 to create my own professional network. The knowledge and skills I gained from various sessions are things I can bring back to both the SAHE community and to my first professional experience. I look forward to continuing to be involved in NACADA and to present myself one day!"
The NACADA website explains, “NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising is an association of professional advisors, counselors, faculty, administrators, and students working to enhance the educational development of students.”
IUP is part of NACADA Mid-Atlantic Region 2, which serves Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
