John Wesley Lowery

John Wesley Lowery, professor and assistant chair of the Student Affairs, Student Success, and Disability Access Department, presented at the Association for Student Conduct Administration annual conference in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, February 8. He offered legislative and public policy updates in a featured session for all conference attendees.

At the ASCA Conference, Lowery was recognized as one of the inaugural recipients of the Legacy of Excellence award by the Raymond H. Goldstone ASCA Foundation. The Legacy of Excellence Award recognizes individuals who have left an enduring impact on the profession through significant contributions to the field of student conduct, impactful scholarship and research, and leadership within ASCA and other organizations.

Lowery has been an active member of ASCA for more than three decades. He has presented a very popular legislative and public policy update at the conference more than 20 times. In addition to serving in various leadership roles, Lowery has previously received multiple awards from the association, including the Donald D. Gehring Award, the D. Parker Young Research Award, the Distinguished Service Award, and the New Professional of the Year Award.
