Are you ready to get your dissertation or thesis started? Are you having trouble finding time to write? Are you stalled and want to restart your writing? Would you like support for your writing? If you answered Yes any of these questions, consider attending the Jones White Writing Center's Dissertation and Thesis Writing Boot Camp on October 17 via Zoom from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
New for fall 2020, this six-hour event (taking place via Zoom) will provide a supportive environment to help you to make progress on your thesis/dissertation writing, jumpstart your writing, or pick up a stalled project. Our Dissertation/Thesis Boot Camp will include:
- the opportunity to set aside dedicated writing time and write with the support of others
- optional presentations you can attend on a variety of topics that will support your writing, including: time management, managing and addressing committee feedback, literature reviews and synthesis of sources, avoiding plagiarism, mindfulness practices for dissertation writers, and more
- Advanced graduate tutors will be available for tutorials and feedback
- Optional peer review sessions where you can gain feedback on your work from participants
As we get closer to the event, we will publish the full schedule. You can attend part of the day or the full day (participants will get the most out of the experience if they attend the full day).
The Boot Camp is open to any graduate student, whether or not they have started their dissertation or thesis. Students who have not yet started would benefit from our workshop series, while students who have already started can benefit from all aspects of the event.
Please sign up in advance.
