Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protection is part of the University Policy as approved by the University Senate.
IUP's Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources Policy helps the university better protect against unintended loss of Personally Identifiable Information. This policy includes protecting employee's and student's personal information such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and passport numbers.
PII information should never be store on a user's local computer (C: drive) or devices and should not be stored on any network share. An office's O: drive is one example of a network share.
