Commencement Ceremony Schedule
- 8:30 a.m. – College of Health Sciences and University College
- 12:30 p.m. – Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and College of Education and Human Services
- 3:30 p.m. – College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs and Eberly College of Business
Doors will open for each ceremony one hour before the start of the ceremony. All doors will be locked when the ceremony begins.
There may be a delay between the end of the 12:30 ceremony and the beginning of the 3:30 ceremony to open the doors one hour before the start of the 3:30 ceremony. Please be patient.
All ceremonies will have guests entering the KCAC through the set of two doors—number 5 and number 6—at the right side of the entrance as you approach the building. Pedestrians will exit the building using the two doors—number 3 and number 4—to the right as you approach the doors from the inside.
We recommend that guests arrive early, before the ceremony, to allow for adequate travel time from parking areas to the Commencement ceremony location.
Designated parking lots near the ceremony and across the IUP campus will be used for commencement parking at no charge. Please see the IUP campus parking and shuttle route maps for details.
Expect increased traffic on Wayne Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and Maple Street. Local traffic is encouraged to avoid this area and find alternative routes. Check back throughout the semester for additional details.
Spring Commencement will be held in three ceremonies on Saturday, May 10, at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex:
- 8:30 a.m. – College of Health Sciences and University College
- 12:30 p.m. – Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and College of Education and Human Services
- 3:30 p.m. – College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs and Eberly College of Business
8:30 and 3:30 Ceremonies
For the ceremonies being held at 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., parking will be available at the KCAC parking areas between the KCAC and Miller Stadium. ADA parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will not be any ADA parking in the front of the KCAC.
All traffic going to the 8:30 a.m. and the 3:30 p.m. ceremony will need to use South 11th Street to park in the KCAC parking lot. Pratt Drive off Wayne Avenue will be closed to all traffic except for guests at the Hilton Garden Hotel and for special event permit holders. Pratt Drive will also be closed to all traffic at the entrance to Pratt Studio Apartments. There will be no parking access for any ceremony off Wayne Avenue at Pratt Drive or from Maple Street at Pratt Drive.
When the 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ceremonies have completed, all traffic will be required to leave the parking area on Pratt Drive or South 11th Street.
- Vehicles leaving the parking area on Pratt Drive will be required to turn right on Maple Street, heading towards Wayne Avenue.
- Vehicles leaving the parking area on South 11th Street will be required to turn left on Maple Street, heading towards Oakland Avenue.
If using GPS to attend Commencement, please do not use the address for the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Anyone who tries to get to the KCAC from Wayne Avenue will be able to park in the KCAC Wayne Avenue parking lot. For the 8:30 a.m. and the 3:30 p.m. ceremonies, use this address and coordinates for parking:

12:30 Ceremony
For the ceremony starting at 12:30 p.m., there will be NO PARKING, including ADA parking, at the KCAC. All parking for the 12:30 p.m. ceremony will be located at the Robertshaw East paved parking lot and the South Campus parking lot. All people attending the 12:30 ceremony will be transported by shuttle buses to the KCAC.
If using GPS to attend Commencement, please do not use the address for the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. For the 12:30 ceremony, use these addresses and coordinates for parking:
- South Campus parking lot: 101 University Drive, Indiana, PA

To access the South Campus parking lot, please use Rose Street, turn onto Kolter Drive, and then onto University Drive. The South Campus Parking lot will be located on your left.
- Robertshaw: 650 South 13th Street, Indiana, PA

ADA parking will be provided at the Robertshaw paved parking lot in the ADA and reserved spaces section of the parking lot adjacent to South 13th Street. These spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served availability basis. The shuttle bus pickup location will be at the entrance to the IUP Criminal Justice Training Center. The shuttle bus pickup location for South Campus will be at the US flagpole adjacent to the IUP baseball field.
Students and Guests
Students who are participating in the Commencement ceremony will be required to enter the KCAC through the entrance door closest to the PNC room, door number 22, off of Pratt Drive. Students will also be required to exit the KCAC after the ceremony through the same door.
All guests attending all ceremonies will be required to enter and leave the KCAC from the main entrance facing the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Pratt Drive. Pratt Drive will be closed to allow a safe pedestrian walkway to and from the ceremonies.

- The former Bi-Lo Lot (across the street from the KCAC Wayne Avenue lot)
- Suites on Pratt East lot (old Towers lot)
- IUP Parking Garage
These additional parking areas are within a three-quarter-mile walk of the KCAC. Please be mindful that there will be no shuttles to or from these parking lots, and the flow of traffic in and out will not be monitored.
