Approach to Therapy
My approach to counseling varies; but generally, I work from three main perspectives: cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered. Our thought-life greatly influences our behaviors and our emotions; thus, a key element of change is interrupting and modifying how (and where) we focus our attention. For those seeking support because of hardship being experienced right now, my goal is to help you move immediately into managing that concern. You control how all of this unfolds—directing what is discussed, for how long, and to what extent. My hope is to create a working relationship in which you feel safe to explore your life experiences, review options for change, and walk away feeling lighter.
