The Environmental Health and Safety Office conducts safety inspections within all buildings on our campus. These inspections are documented and forwarded to the appropriate building manager and the director of Operations in the Facilities Department. The two departments access the inspection report and take action on all deficiencies.
The university grounds are inspected by the Environmental Health and Safety Office, the Police Department, and the maintenance workers who work out on the campus. Deficiencies are documented on Police Sergeants’ Police Reports. From the reports, work orders are submitted to eliminate the safety hazard. Maintenance workers will also submit work orders to correct deficiencies. Work orders are kept electronically on file.
Periodic follow-ups will take place to ensure that work requests for correction have been completed on both work orders and building inspection reports.
