Fines are imposed to encourage borrowers to return materials on time in order to make them available to other users.
Fines for Circulating Items
A fine of $0.35 per day, per item, will be charged for an overdue library book (maximum overdue fine: $100).
Fines and fees for tuition-paying students will be applied to student accounts at Student Billing. There is a one-business-day delay before the fines and fees will be transferred. Payment can be made either online through IUP-EasyPay (available in MyIUP) or at the Student Billing Office in Clark Hall (cash or money order only).
If you are not a tuition-paying patron, a charge of $15 or more in fines will result in a loss of library privileges. Fines issued to non-tuition-paying patrons must be paid at the Stapleton Library Circulation Desk.
Notifications
Please pay attention to your email, as notices about due dates and overdue items will be sent to you via email. Visit Policies and Processes for information about what notices you will receive regarding your checked out items, and when such notices will arrive.
If you believe you have received a fine or fee in error, please contact the Circulation Desk and we will work with you to address the issue.
Fines for Reserve Items
Overdue fines for the late return of Reserve items will accrue at $1 per hour while the item is overdue.
If a reserve item is lost, a fee equal to the replacement cost of the item will be applied to the student's account at the Student Billing Office.
