What is Parent Pathways at IUP?

Parent Pathways is a program funded by the PA Department of Education to support undergraduate parenting students with tuition assistance, emergency funding, and wrap-around service support (e.g., school supplies funding, resource referrals, childcare funding).

Who is eligible?

IUP parenting students enrolled in an undergraduate course with a completed FAFSA and an annual family income at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

What do I have to do?

To enroll in the program complete a Parent Pathways application and send supporting documents to parentpathways-program@iup.edu.  For more information, contact:

What can you receive?

Scholarship and Stipend

  • Up to $1000 per academic year applied to tuition
  • Up to $200 per semester applied to textbooks and supplies at the bookstore

Parent Support Services

  • Parent Education
  • CPR Training
  • Resource Referrals
  • Family Support Services

Child Care Funding

  • Up to 40-90 percent of total cost covered

Emergency Funding

  • Up to $100 in gift cards for Walmart or Amazon per academic year when an emergency occurs (distributed in $25 increments)
