Student Leadership, under the direction of Donovan Daniel, provides leadership development opportunities for students and student organizations and supports cocurricular activities and civic engagement.
Student Leadership is also responsible for creating an environment that promotes the positive growth and development of students in order to facilitate a productive learning experience. We offer several leadership series to help achieve this goal. Below is a list of all the leadership workshops that are offered.
Emerging Leader Series
The Emerging Leaders Series is a program for new or aspiring student leaders at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It helps you develop a greater understanding of yourself, your community, and your potential as a leader! Active participation will allow you to take what you learn beyond the classroom and into your personal and professional life.

Executive Leader Series
Looking to become the next president, vice president, or treasurer, or just be more active in your student organization? The Executive Leader Program fosters leadership competence through interactive programs that connect you with other student leaders and experienced facilitators. Student participants will develop a better understanding of themselves and gain tools to approach challenges organizations will face.

Leadership in a Multicultural Society
The Leadership in a Multicultural Society workshop series develops skills and awareness through interactive programs that increase understanding of diversity, inclusion, and leadership. Through intentional programs, students develop a greater understanding of themselves, their community, and concepts they can apply in and beyond the classroom and into their professional lives.

Lead@IUP Summit
The purpose of the Lead@IUP Summit is to equip Black and Brown student leaders with leadership knowledge and tools to help them succeed at IUP and beyond. Presenters will share perspectives that will help instill within participants the confidence and courage to continue to grow at IUP and serve the needs of their fellow IUP students.
The Lead@IUP Summit will take place in February (date TBD). The location will be Elkin Hall. Registration will open on Crimson Connect at the start of the spring semester.

From Self to Society: The Diverse Roles of Leadership Half-Day Conference
The purpose of this conference is to help student leaders develop an understanding of their leadership abilities and how their role as leaders impacts campus and societal structures, displaying the multifaceted aspects of leadership both internally and externally.
The fourth annual Self to Society Conference will take place on Saturday, March 4, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. The location is to be determined. Registration for the event will open in the spring semester.
Student Leadership Toolkit Series
This program is designed for student leaders and aspiring student leaders. Each week focuses on a leadership “tool” or concept contributing to student leadership development.
The goals for this program are:
- Students will complete a six-week series that will increase their knowledge of leadership concepts and provide experiences with different aspects of leadership development;
- Students will demonstrate skills in leadership, conflict management, communication skills, team building, diversity and inclusion, and mindfulness;
- Students will work cooperatively with others, including people different from self and with different viewpoints; and
- Students will be exposed to a variety of resources on campus that can assist them in their leadership journey.
