We live in an age when new technologies give us unprecedented access to personalized information delivery. With this convenience comes the opportunity for online service providers to collect and share or sell your personal information.
College professors and administrators recognize the need to increase students' awareness of the threats that exist and provide them with knowledge and tools that will help them protect their privacy as they use online services.
In this session, IUP professors and administrators will discussed how they inform students about the dangers related to the use of free online services that collect data from us as we use them, how this can make them the target of spammers, hackers, and identity thieves, and simple ways that students can protect themselves while still taking advantage of new technology.
