Grades and Grade Appeals: Reflective Practice Large Group Meeting held on November 9, 2016, Faculty Panel: Lynnan Mocek, Pablo Mendoza, and Todd Van Wieren
What are your responsibilities when it comes to explaining how a student earned a grade? Most faculty members have talked informally with a student dissatisfied with a grade they earned, but few faculty members are familiar with the formal grade appeal process. Representatives from the Provost's Office, the Office of Social Equity, Disability Support Services, and the IUP faculty will discuss instructor's responsibilities and rights when it comes to assigning grades and navigating the grade appeal process.
