Title: Applied Ergonomics: Technology to Assess Risk Factors in Wrist and Hand
Overview: The purpose of this presentation is to introduce employers to modern technologies that focus on assessing risk factors of the hand and wrist during workplace tasks. The speaker will also review an assistive device, a soft-glove hand exoskeleton.
Wanda Minnick is a professor in the Safety Sciences and Environmental Engineering Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She received her doctorate in administration and leadership studies from IUP in 2012. She has an MS in environmental, health, and safety Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and a BS in safety sciences from IUP. She is a certified safety professional, and prior to safety, she was in the manufacturing industry for 12 years. Her research areas of expertise are in ergonomics and safety management.
