Dana Lynn Driscoll, Professor of English and Director of the Jones White Writing Center has been consulting on a multi-year project with colleagues from the Czech Republic.
The inaugural Research Writing Party, co-sponsored by the Jones White Writing Center and IUP Libraries, was a huge success with more than 350 attendees. Students from all disciplines played games, learned about student-centered research and writing services, and enjoyed refreshments and a visit from the Just Paws therapy dogs.
The Jones White Writing Center celebrates a successful Thesis/Dissertation Boot Camp with nearly 80 attendees. The camp offered several different tutorials for graduate writers or those who are about to begin the writing process.

Join our virtual Thesis and Dissertation Writing Boot Camp on Saturday, October 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. via Zoom. Our boot camp will provide a supportive environment to help you make progress on your thesis/dissertation writing, jump start your writing, pick up a stalled project, or build your writing skills while you are still in coursework. Graduate students at all stages, including those in coursework, are welcome to attend.

The Jones White Writing Center is delighted to open up registration for our fall 2021 Graduate Writing Groups. Graduate Writing Groups are open to registration until Friday, September 3. Graduate Writing Groups take place via Zoom and meet every two weeks.
The Jones White Writing Center will be open for tutorials starting August 30 and continuing through the end of Finals Week. We will be offering online and face-to-face tutorials in our Eicher 218 and Library Satellite (Stapleton first floor) locations.

The Jones White Writing Center offered its second Dissertation and Thesis Writing Boot Camp on March 13 via Zoom. Attendees included 102 graduate students representing nearly all graduate programs on campus. The event featured five workshops, a silent writing room, and graduate-level tutorials during the event.
The Jones White Writing Center has developed new training and initiatives to support ongoing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts at IUP. Fostering diversity and inclusion are an important part of the long-term mission of the Jones White Writing Center, and our efforts this semester seek to strengthen our commitment to creating a more equitable and supportive campus for diverse students.
