The Student Managed Investment Portfolio organization just wrapped up another successful semester in fall 2024. The club welcomed numerous new members as analysts, many of them first-semester freshmen, who brought renewed energy to the organization.

Theodore A. Lazzaro, owner and founder of Aestique Plastic Surgery of Greensburg, Shadyside, and Wexford, has gifted $50,000 to Indiana University of Pennsylvania to establish the Dr. Theodore A. Lazzaro Scholarship for students pursuing a degree in a healthcare field.
Alumni and students of the Cook Honors College met to share news and reconnect with each other in December at the Sienna Mercato Restaurant in Pittsburgh. Though the event was mostly designed to bring alumni together, current CHC seniors were invited to attend to give them an opportunity to network with the alumni and ask questions as they prepare to start their careers.

In an office and laboratories on the upper floors of Kopchick Hall, Skip Kingston ’73, M’75 occupies a unique place in the life of IUP. Kingston is a visiting scientist, or scientist in residence, continuing his work on various projects relating to analytical chemistry.
Kerry Green was inducted into the Pittsburgh Marathon Hall of Fame in May, an acknowledgment of his lifetime achievements as a distance runner. But long before that, Green had gained acclaim far beyond western Pennsylvania, not so much for his running, but for what he did while running. He juggled.
In 1996, the Cook Honors College was established at IUP with a bold objective: to carve out a space on campus in which several hundred students at a time could immerse themselves in a rigorous, communal learning experience. More than a quarter-century later, CHC’s mission is thriving.

At its meeting today, Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees endorsed a tiered residential housing scholarship for students choosing to live in on-campus housing, increasing the housing scholarship for some students by $1,000.

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency recently announced the identification of a previously unaccounted-for service member from a site where IUP was one of the contributing archaeological teams. IUP Anthropology faculty and students conducted forensic archaeological excavation of WWII aircraft crash sites in Germany through a cooperative agreement with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and the Henry M Jackson Foundation.
