Description: This study tracks 250 patients admitted to the intensive outpatient program at Gateway Rehabilitation Center, Aliquippa, PA, through phone interviews every six months over a three-year period. Extensive intake questionnaires, psychological tests, and treatment records will be used with the follow-up interviews to assess the overall effectiveness of the treatment in establishing abstinence from alcohol and other drugs, and the effectiveness with different kinds of patient receiving more or less extensive care.

Goal: to evaluate the effectiveness of intensive outpatient treatment for addiction.
