Dolan Real Estate Finance, LP
Dolan is the founder of Dolan Real Estate Finance, LP, a private investment fund that finances projects and enterprises secured by first-lien security interests in commercial real estate located primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
Dolan also serves as vice chairman of the board and Audit Committee chair of Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation (NASD: ACFC), which has been involved in turnaround since late 2013. Atlantic Coast Financial Corp. is a Jacksonville, Florida-based bank holding company and the parent company of Atlantic Coast Bank.
In addition, Dolan serves as a partner in ProfitFocus CFO, LLC, a C-Level advisory and coaching firm providing high-level financial and strategic consulting services to enable entities to optimize their financial performance and increase their strategic focus.
As a strategic leader, Dolan led an NYSE-listed banking company through transition during the "Great Recession." As CEO of First Commonwealth Financial Corporation (NYSE:FCF), he transformed the company's strategy from growth through acquisitions to organic growth, restructured the executive team to ensure success, and navigated the company to clean up credit issues.
Also as CEO of First Commonwealth, Dolan led the company to maintain a strong capital position throughout the recession period without accepting TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) or CPP (Capital Purchase Program) funds, and decisively raised common equity capital in uncertain markets.
For over 20 years Dolan served as chief financial officer at First Commonwealth Financial Corporation. During that time, he was responsible for financial accounting and reporting, regulatory and management reporting, budgeting, tax planning, and investor relations. The company completed 13 bank acquisitions and three non-bank acquisitions during his tenure as CFO.
Throughout his tenure with First Commonwealth, Dolan was active in industry groups such as the Financial Services Roundtable, Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and the American Bankers Association. His involvement included the roles of board member and committee chair as well as committee member.
Prior to joining First Commonwealth and its predecessor, National Bank of the Commonwealth, Dolan was staff accountant at Barnes, Saly, and Company, Certified Public Accountants, a regional firm where he gained experience auditing banks, coal companies, retail organizations, and not-for-profit organizations.
Reflecting his passion for public service and building strong communities, Dolan has been quite active in economic develop and assisting early stage companies in their development stages. He is an experienced angel investor and has served on several not-for-profit boards and is currently on the board for the West Liberty University Foundation, Inc. and the board of trustees for the Catholic Institute of Greensburg (Pa).
Dolan earned his BS in Business Administration from West Liberty University in West Virginia.
