Bill Shipley holds a bachelor of science degree in Management from IUP's Eberly College of Business and Information Technology.
Shipley retired as a partner from the international accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in 2004, and then served for six years as the executive director of Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP, a regional law firm based in Pittsburgh.
He is currently a Regional Director for McKinley Carter Wealth Services, a registered investment advisory firm.
Shipley rejoined the Foundation for IUP board for a second term in July 2010, having served previously as the IUP Alumni Association representative from 2005 to 2008. Shipley is chair of the audit committee and a member of the executive committee.
He received the IUP Distinguished Alumni Award in 1990, the Outstanding Business Alumni Award from the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology, in 2001, and Eberly's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. He is also part of in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology Hall of Distinction and a member of the college's business advisory council. Shipley is a past president of the IUP Alumni Association.
