Deisinger, Renowned Authority on Campus Threat Management, Shares Expertise at IUP

Major Gene Deisinger, PhD, managing partner of Sigma Threat Management Associates, shared his expertise with IUP senior administrators and faculty in two days of discussions focused on the complex issues related to campus violence and principles of campus threat assessment and management.

Eleven Proposals Receive Strategic Initiative Funding

Timothy S. Moerland Named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. Moerland will begin his position on January 14, 2013. He comes from Kent State University, where he has served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to that, he held several positions at Florida State University, including chair of the Department of Biological Science, interim director of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Institute, and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Ronald Snyder, 28, of Duncansville passed away. He was a senior majoring in Physical Education and Sport and was scheduled to graduate in December. He had served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in Iraq.

Voter Registration Deadline Is October 9

Fiscal Year 2012–13 General Budget

At the end of June, the Pennsylvania legislature and the governor approved flat appropriations for PASSHE. On July 9, 2012, the PASSHE Board of Governors approved tuition and fee increases for fiscal year 2012–13. As a result, we are now in a position to finalize IUP’s general (E&G) budget for FY 2012–13.

Ms. Burkett, a sophomore in the Anthropology Department, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

President Werner Comments on “Campus PD” Episodes in Indiana

Episodes of the reality show Campus PD that include scenes filmed in Indiana last year are expected to air on the G4 network on January 31 and in February 2012. The university was not consulted on or involved in any arrangements related to this project.
